Award Application FAQs

We Have The Answers

The National Grassroot Media Corporation recognizes the incredible value of media within smaller cities (under 60,000) and the rural communities of our country. These communities are being left behind in the digital age!

With over 3,400 communities in the US afflicted by what the CDC calls “a crisis in communication,” we are bringing Digital TV and Internet Radio Stations to these underserved communities by providing the guidance & tools to help them tell their stories, communicate news, showcase emerging talent, and broadcast LIVE community events. After all, there can be no crisis with access to communication.

Digital Stations installed under the Rural Is Relevant Initiative include Streaming TV apps on mobile (iOS & Android) and SmartTV platforms (AppleTv, RokuTV, Amazon Fire TV, and more); as well as a 24/7 Internet Radio Station with distribution to 10+ podcast platforms (Apple, Google, Stitcher, Spotify, etc.). In addition to your own branded station, you’ll receive the tools, resources, & training to fully operate, promote, & monetize your network, along with access to our centralized production team for assistance with content creation.

The number of available network spots is limited and will only be eligible to be awarded to those who complete the application by the deadline. Additionally, NGMC is working with various government & private grants to provide communities who are awarded a network financial coverage of up to 100% of the One-Time Network Startup Fee.

The only tool you’ll need to provide is a consistent, high-speed Internet connection via Ethernet hardline. The Startup Fee includes ALL the additional hardware & software you’d require to launch a station, and even set it up for you.

All we ask is for a commitment to content that empowers & informs your community members on the entertainment & issues that are close to their hearts. NGMC will provide you with the support you need to identify, solicit, and initiate the content creators in your community, while giving them the production support they need to create content.

NGMC is seeking applications from rural communities with a population of 60,000 or less, who have a dedication to returning local media to those in their community that could benefit from it most.
